I was quite enjoying myself at the Botanic Gardens. The varied hues of green were so enchanting and relaxing that it almost seemed like paradise. I really forgot, momentarily, who I was, where I came from and where I was headed. I was one with Nature, was completely at peace....
And then things took riotous turn, the green gave way to an intense explosion of colours....
As I proceeded deeper into the gardens, the hues of green on the foliage became even more enchanting....
I finally saw it! The carnivorous pitcher plant, about which I had read in school....
Nature gives us many reasons to rejoice, only if we have the patience to take notice...
Contrasting and intense colours.... only Nature can create magic like this....
The clouds gave way to bright sunshine....
And it all looked so pretty....
And I reached the section that showcased plants that thrived in prehistoric times....
Ferns, lichens and mosses....
Palms....
The rain forest....
Trees of stone...
And then I reached the section on medicinal plants....
Storm clouds were rolling again....
Beautiful.... I was spellbound....
In the middle of the Symphony lake there is a big arrow on a rock, pointing towards Greenwich in the United Kingdom, where the Prime Meridian is passes through.
The stone and the arrow have been here since 1914, and this was the place where a temporary station for observing the Earth's magnetism was located.
Symphony lake looked so placid....
A pretty Heliconia....
As rain started, I took shelter.... I tell you it was like the heavens had opened up....
I had to wait quite a while, before I entered the National Orchid Garden....
