After the lovely date with Kai Kai (凯凯) and Jia Jia (嘉嘉), the adorable pandas at the River Safari, we had a disappointing experience at the Night Safari, yesterday, which I frankly found quite a bit overrated.
But then better things were in store for us today. We just could not miss an encounter with the pink dolphins at the Underwater World, at Sentosa island...
We headed out to Harbour Front MRT and on the way on the subway, I saw this adorable, cute little Chinese girl reading out stories from her book to her mother... Kids, especially little girls, are rather angelic... Their enthusiasm, their inquisitiveness, their joy is rather infectious...
We got off the MRT at Harbour Front and headed up to VivoCity Mall to buy our entry tickets for the Sentosa Monorail... There was a mad rush here...
Indeed Singapore has been successful in marketing its attractions and that ensures a steady stream visitors to this island nation...
On the monorail, we are on course for Sentosa island...
A replica of the iconic Merlion at Sentosa...
We got off at the Beach Station and took a bus for the Underwater World...
We were welcomed by a couple of stingrays and baby sharks at Underwater World...
A riot of colour on display...
That made me think, how much fun would it be to scuba dive someday..., yes, hopefully, someday...
Corals and underwater vegeation fluttered around with the currents...
A sea-horse rests by the seaweed...
Amazing hues...
The rather menacing fish looking right at me...
Siesta time...
Octopus tentacles...
The crab seems all set for some action...
Exotic...
The jellyfish looked amamzing, as they peacefully floated around...
The menacing sharks lazed around...
Headed for the pièce de résistance of the trip here to see the dolphins...
Indeed the dolphins are the epitome of grace and joy...
They seemed quite happy to see the crowds...
Mama dolphin with her baby who swam right alongside her all through...
Waiting, eagerly, for a snack...
There she goes, in all her grace...
And she acknowledges the crowd...
"Where's my snack?"
"Hello fellas!"
And then the seals put up a show...
