Though this was a short trip to Korea and I was unable to see much, I was delighted when I found out that the Incheon International Airport has a Cultural Museum of Korea. The museum gives a sneak peak into Korean culture and art to foreign travelers.
The museum is located in the departures area of the new concourse and is accessible to all passengers who have cleared security and immigration checks.
The museum is operated in cooperation with the National Museum of Korea and it displays a collection of artifacts covering the 5,000-year history of Korea.
A traditional drum...
Displays on ancient Korean printing...
Samples of the Korean script, Hangul. The script was created during the Joseon Dynasty and is vastly different from the pictograms in Chinese...
Traditional sketches...
A Buddhist painting...
Buddhist sutras...
Traditional imperial dress...
A plan of the Donggwoldo Palace..
Buildings of the Joseon Dynasty...
I had to rush through here to complete my Plane Spotting, so I gotta save history for another day...
