An Evening In Taipei...

After exploring the cultural and religious side of Taipei, at the Snake Alley and the Lungshan Temple, we headed back to our AirBnB apartment in the Zhongshan District.

On our way back, we passed by Taipei 101 again, to take a quick look at the illuminations...

Serpents made out of LED lighting...

The stacked noodle-box building indeed looks pretty impressive...

Back in Zhongshan District, we stopped by at Taipei 8 Cafe on Nanjing Road for two cups of gooey hot chocolate. This was a super friendly outlet with great music - the cafe made us feel at home and we spent nearly hour over here enjoying the music!

Nanjing Road is lined up with food stalls, small eateries, grocery shops and auto-part shops...

Various varieties of tofu and processed meats, but I ain't hungry!

How about some crab? Oh no, I am full...

The fresh fruit looked yum...

This lovely lady was grilling sausages as a late night snack for people who work around here. And she was all smiles as we clicked here going about her trade!

And before we retired to our apartment, we stopped by the neighbourhood 7-Eleven store to pick up some sandwiches and fruit for breakfast. Taiwan has over 5,000 7-Eleven's with over 2,500 in Taipei alone! Now I love the concept of 7-Eleven and its local cousin, Family Mart - they are open all night and the best thing is you aren't far away from one in Taipei. We have five such stores in a 500 metre radius around our apartment. Perhaps, these stores are the lifeline that keep Taipei alive and awake all through the night!
