From exploring the poetic side of Kyoto it was now time to explore the livelier side of the city. From the Philosopher's Walk, we headed towards Gion, the Geisha district and passing by the Chion-in shrine.
Passing by the Chion-in shrine, a Buddhist temple dating back to the 1200s...
It was dusk and we had any time to go in...
Passing by the Hello Kitty shop reminds us we are in the land of the popular Asian character from the house of Sanrio...
Oops...
Geisha shoes...
Moving around in Gion, we had hoped to see a few Geishas. Now, Geishas are are traditional Japanese female entertainers or hostesses who performs arts such as music, dance, games and conversation, for entertaining male guests. They wear kimonos and a heavy makeup and hairdos. Unfortunately, we could not spot any Geishas around.
One more Indian restaurant...
A street in Kyoto...
