I am just about to leave Melbourne to head back to Songdo, after a short stopover at Hong Kong. The day began quite early for me, at 3.45 AM. After a quick shower, I headed from my hotel to the SkyBus station at Southern Cross Station...
It was a short 5-minute walk and even at this hour, fastfood joints at Southern Cross station were open for customers...
At the SkyBus station - yes I am "leaving on a jet plane"...
After the short 20-minute ride, I reached Tullamarine Airport - check-in, immigration and security formalities were completed pretty fast. But the sun hadn't risen as yet and Plane Spotting had to wait...
The departures board showing flights to some exotic lands - Fiji, Bali, New Zealand - hopefully I would visit these places sometime...
A statue showing Shannon Warnest shearing in the duty free area - Shannon was a two-time shearing champion, which incidentally was a revelation, for, I didn't know that shearing was a sport!
And it was time for me to check out local merino wool products before the sun rises - then, I would become very busy, Plane Spotting!
As I get ready to leave Australia, after this short 2-day trip, I promised myself that this was just a beginning, a curtainraiser. I need to visit this incredible land again, to see more of its wonder like the Twelve Apostles, the Uluru, the Great Barrier Reef and many many more wonders (or surprises) that it has to be offer. And as the Wurundjeri people would say goodbye in their native Woiwurrung language, Ya Minyah, Melbourne...
