And this morning, we began our journey to visit Fiji's capital, Suva...
Suva is nearly 200 kilometres away from Denarau, in Nadi where we are staying. The journey typically takes around 3 hours on the Queen's Road and takes us past Sigatoka and the Pacific Harbour. On the way, we go past some amazing green landscapes and get some stunning views of Viti Levu's southern coastline...
Thick and heavy clouds come and go...
And we hope it doesn't rain today...
What a lovely place to have a house...
The rolling green hills of Nawau...
This country is amazingly beautiful, but it's a pity that I can't live in a paradise like this...
A local chieftain's bure in Vatukarasa...
Stopping by for a quick snack that these lovely ladies were selling in Vatukarasa - boiled corn. Slightly salted, the boiled corn was full of natural flavours and just the right thing for us...
Passing by Korolevu Airport...
Korolevu, which was known as Fiji's Riveria, was the main hub of tourism activity in the 1950s and 1960s. In those days, tourists used to fly in, right here to Korolevu Airport...
Passing by the Coral Coast...
A local school in Namatakula...
The stunning coastline...
Please - no rain today!
Stopping by at the Skinny Bean Cafe for a quick drink...
Every morning, I long to hold you
I need you
I want you
I have to have you
Your warmth, your smell, your taste
Ohhh
Coffee, I love you...
"I'm on Fiji Time"
In many ways, the expression Fiji Time denotes the laid-back, relaxed and easy-going nature of the Fijians. And we are told, the expression has a very simple meaning. Life is to be lived, not rushed!
Lovely...
It's an English Breakfast tea and a croissant for us...
The cafe is a charming little place...
And off we go to Suva...
Beautiful photo Story and it tells a lot.
